Known Issues
Engine repeatedly codes high temperature during operation at 2000-2500 RPM despite recent water pump, thermostat, coolant, and belt replacement. Issue recurs after appearing resolved. Temperature drops at low RPM. Belt slippage suspected as cause of inadequate coolant circulation and boil-off.
Tractor experiences high coolant temperatures that cool back to normal before reaching redline. User suspects failing thermostat after coolant change. Temperature fluctuates rather than remaining stable.
We just got it in, super low hours. Practically new. After a few hours of dusty mowing with a bush hog, it started engine temp started to climb and I had to wash out the radiator and it was caked in dust and cotton like junk from the brush Im taking down. Coolant levels fine. Is there any after market dust cover for the radiator and condenser? I know NAPA sells something like that although Im unsure if it actually works. TIA!

Got a JD3720 (hydrostatic) and at the end of last year and now this year I am noticing a loss of sensitivity in the accelerator pedal. Usually in any gear (A/B/C) you can lightly put your foot down and get some gentle forward motion out of the tractor. Finding that now you have to bring the tractor to \~1700 (n/min x 100) to get any sort of movement. Inline hydraulic filter LVA12726 replaced May 2022. Maybe that needs a clean? Hydraulic fluid is full and clean. Cab air filter and engine air filters (primary, secondary) clean. Fuel filter, engine oil filter and engine oil changes done April 2025. Any troubleshooting tips very welcome.
Mower runs like a top without PTO on. When spinning the blades this is what happens… it’s like it’s starving of gas. I’ve changed: Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, spark plugs, coils. Then just sent it to my local John Deere. They said fuel pump was bad and changed it. $513 later it’s still doing the exact problem that I sent it to them for. Right after this video was filmed I cranked it up and it back fired really loud but it did crank and ran like a top all the way back to where I park it. Like I said… it runs 100% fine with the PTO off. What’s really weird is it will cut just fine for about 20 mins after its first cranked up. Once the mower heats up… this problem surfaces.
