We got the chance to demo a 2012 with the autoquad trans and the price is pretty good. We'd like to own it but have heard that the same engine that's in that machine was in the 50 series combines that had engines go out of em. As well as a neighbour with a JD sprayer that has the same engine had it go on them too. It's got 2500hrs on it. Do any of you guys have any experiences with em?

How do you all decide when to update equipment? I'm trying to decide if it's worth updating my old JD 8 row 7200 planter. Options are to switch out old parts on current planter for precision planting parts or upgrade to a slightly newer and larger planter. I guess the third option is to keep it cheap and repair/ replace only necessary parts.
