John Deere 955 wont start.

Hello! We have a 1990's 955 with about 560 hrs on it. Mainly used for snowblowing. Recently I noticed it leaving a little trail of oil as I was blowing snow. Brought it in the garage and found the front of the engine and below covered in oil. Oil level was half way down dip stick as well so knew it was engine oil. We had it brought out to a guy that has worked on John Deeres for years and he determined it was the front crank seal. He replaced and tested with no leaking. As soon as we got it back and used it it started leaking again. Not nearly as bad but still leaving a trail. I used it again the next day to finish and now it was leaking like before so I pulled it in garage and cleaned it all up to see if it was a new leak or what. Found that the oil is running out from the front crank seal again. Searching doesn't turn up much on this issue so I can only assume it is not a common issue. Any ideas what would cause it to fail again so soon? Other than improper install. Only other issue we have with it is excessive smoke. The puff at startup is normal but while running it you are in a cloud of smoke from improper combustion. We had a diesel mechanic look at it a few years ago and they felt that one of the injectors was going bad so I replaced all 3 with no change. Any help would be much appreciated!
