I have a friend who is looking to sell a 1997 (approx.) John Deere with 1,069 hours. The serial number is unknown because the tag has fallen off. It has all-wheel steer and a 60-inch deck. The steering cylinder is leaking, the steering wheel has some wobble, and it tends to drift slightly when driving straight. The engine runs very smoothly and starts easily in cold weather. The deck lift, differential, and lights all work properly. What would be a fair price to offer? I was thinking around $3000
I just bought a used walk behind and am not used to the controls. I hit a telephone pole with it and it broke in half. Can it be repaired? I was thinking the shaft can be welded, but I'm not sure how to get the broken piece out of the deck. The yellow picture is the deck and the green is the mower frame. It's a 1997 John Deere 54", 17HP Walk behind. Serial number of mower: gx1330x055341 17 HP COMM Mow Serial number of deck: GX54MCX055051 54 COMM W-B It looks like the shaft is welded to the frame, not sure if they would sell just the shaft. Does anyone know where I could even find one of these?
