This recall involves Gator utility vehicles with model number XUV590E, XUV590M, or XUV590M S4 printed on the hood. "John Deere" and "Gator" are also printed on the cargo box. The recalled utility vehicles have side-by-side seating for two or four people and were sold in green and yellow, olive & black, or TrueTimber® Kanati® Camo colors. Engine failed after approximately 33 months of use, resulting in a gaping hole in the side where the starter attaches. Required complete engine replacement. User reports regular oil changes were performed.

After replacing the carburetor with a genuine new part, the engine started fine but died after 3 minutes when the user started the PTO and began cutting. After replacing the fuel filter, the engine makes unusual noise when the forward pedal is pressed and feels weak when starting the PTO blades.

Gator RSX 860E purchased April 2020 for $9,000 proved unreliable from start with repeated repairs. November 2022 exhaust issue not resolved until April 2023—five-month wait. Equipment needed for livelihood. Exhaust subsequently failed again with burn injuries and falling parts.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JOHN DEERE 790 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL REPEATEDLY FELL OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE IN USE. THE ISSUE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES.
