Plastic hood breaks into pieces after a few years of age, even with garage storage. Replacement hood parts cost $394.00. Broken plastic creates sharp edges that pose injury risk. User considers this a defect with no manufacturer recall or accountability.

Looking for some insight . Is there any other transmission that can replace the spicer 4360-105

Hello all, I have a LT133 model that won’t start. When I turn the ignition , it cranks and cranks until either the starter burns out or the battery positive terminal melts! I’ve gone through 2 starters and 3 batteries. I’ve replaced the fuel filter, ignition switch , changed oil, oil filter and air filter. The engine is clean and the spark plug is brand new as well. To make things even stranger, the cranking does not stop when you turn off the ignition. So you HAVE to disconnect from the battery. Else either the terminal melts, the starter burns or (best case scenario) the battery dies. I was going to take it to a dealership, but they charge $75/hr just to figure out what’s wrong with it. And I have seen new tractors for less than $1100 brand new. Don’t want to risk spending $700 on something so old, so I was hoping maybe I could fix it myself. Plus this tractor was not originally mine, it was part of the house items when I bought my house. So it was kinda free.

Hello /r/johndeere! I'm in need of your advice. My late grandfather left behind a LT133 with a Kohler engine. It has sat at my grandparents' home for about a decade. My grandmother is preparing to move from the house in the coming years and has offered the mower to me if I would like to have it. I had it taken to a John Deere authorized service center to get a feel for what it would cost to get it running. I received the overall pricing, and am working on getting an itemized list e-mailed to me for further research. The overall cost was around $600 in parts and $400 in labor, so ~$1000 to get it up and running again. I'm wanting to either restore this mower or buy a used one from someone local for around $400-$600. So my question is this: would you spend the $1,000 to get this running or would you buy something used for $400-$600?
